The Interfreeze School will take place in Cargèse (Corsica) from May 18 to 22, 2026. Participants are expected to arrive on May 17 during the day and depart on May 23 in the morning.
The aim of this school is to present the fundamentals and latest theoretical advances and experimental activities in the field of solidification of capillary flows, porous media, and heterogeneous mixtures, with a particular focus on ice formation. This is an emerging topic in the macroscopic physics community, older in others (metallurgy, for example), and crucial in a wide variety of applications ranging from aeronautics to environmental issues. The aim of this school is therefore to bring together these different communities, but also to structure them and generate synergy between the main national and international players in these fields.
Registration opens: January 2026.

Conference fees
Registration fees for the School have not yet been finalized. They will be around €700 for researchers and €500 for students.
A reduced rate will apply for participants who choose a low-carbon travel option (train and boat).
